When the Tea Time Club at Pear Tree Junior School was running, Fatima* and her two children had attended a majority of the clubs over 3 years. She was a very gentle, giving and open woman but it  took some time for volunteer, Elsa Pawson, to get to know her and build a relationship of trust.

Over time Fatima shared more about her situation at home and the difficulties she was suffering. With Tim & Elsa’s support, she moved to a refuge, first in Matlock and then out of the area.

It brought tears to her eyes when we visited her.  She was so touched that we cared enough to travel the distance to see her again

Thanks to opportunities to work in schools, Tim, our Associate Schools Worker and Elsa, have been able to continue supporting her and report that she has settled well into a new home.
