At Derby City Mission there’s not a day that goes by without the team thanking God for all that He has provided this year as we serve our city.
From funding and new team members to transformations in our guests’ and clients’ situations, which, without the hand of God, would seem totally hopeless. On a ‘super’ Saturday in November, the Mission was yet again blessed by a Christmas bazaar and coffee morning at St Stephen’s Church in Sinfin. “It’s the best we’ve ever done!” commented Joyce Sadler, when £411 was raised through their selfless act of serving tea and toast, selling cakes and crumbles and inviting donations for plants and presents.
Only 4 miles away at an Alternative Christmas Gift Market, hosted by Littleover Methodist Church, £610 (plus gift aid!) was raised by individuals wanting to help many in need at Christmas time. This £1,000 plus, was vital funding for Derby Churches Nightshelter only weeks before the doors opened.
From £10 to £1,000, Derby City Mission is immensely privileged and proud to be working in partnership with individuals, churches and businesses who share a common goal of demonstrating God’s love and bringing hope to many in our city and beyond. From coffee mornings, sponsored cycle rides and sleep out’s, to donations from business sales, the use of free meeting rooms and decorating offices - thank you to everyone who fundraises and supports the work of Derby City Mission.
