Providing support after Nightshelter ends

Within only weeks left, the team of staff, partner agencies and volunteers are working tirelessly to seek permanent accommodation for guests following the closure of our emergency shelter provision on 2nd April 2018.

Given the current adverse weather conditions, the need to work quickly and effectively is more evident.

Our aim at Derby City Mission is to have EVERYONE housed by 2nd April 2018.  However, we occasionally encounter individuals who, despite our best efforts, we are unable to secure any form of accommodation despite being a deserving case. Often these guests are also suffering from health conditions that put them at risk of a further deterioration in their state of destitution .

We have set up a discretionary fund to enable us to assist such individuals in these occasional and extreme cases, where all other avenues have been exhausted and would welcome donations.

Recipients of the fund are to be carefully decided,  with a view to achieving a longer term solution, with the help of carefully selected supported accommodation providers.
