Head of Business Development

By profession I am a pharmacist who has spent my career developing new medicines in the pharmaceutical industry. As a scientist I am immensely satisfied to see patients benefiting from the medicines I helped develop. Even before I became a Christian, God was working in my life and giving me the skills and experience that I now use to his glory.

I started volunteering with Derby City Mission in 2014. It is an honour to talk with so many people and in some small way to help them on their journey into a restored relationship with God. I have a deep concern for asylum seekers and refugees which has arisen from my work in different countries. I am passionate about the mentoring programme that we are now using to help people achieve their goals.
I became a Board Director in 2016 and have recently started an additional role as Head of Business Development, seeking out new opportunities and creating practical solutions for their delivery.
I also work in Africa through the charity Hope for Tanzania that I set up in 2008. God has answered our prayers in astonishing ways and we have seen a primary school grow from nothing to 400 children and many people come to personal faith in Jesus. Our new focus is church planting in a rural area of the country and building a Bible college for a group of pastors. Over the years I have been privileged to lead 10 teams to Tanzania, to see people become challenged by God's work in Africa and experience God doing numerous exciting things in building his kingdom.
I am married to a teacher and we have two lovely girls who are completing their University education. My leisure passion is climbing mountains and canoeing but building houses and property development comes a close second. And that's not forgetting my love of cooking and eating Indian food.
