Hi there, many of you who have been involved with Nightshelter previously will know me as the Food Coordinator for DCM.  This winter I will also be overseeing the Nightshelter as Project Manager for Derby.  I feel humbled to be given the responsibility for such a vital project to serve the homeless community in our City.

I have been volunteering for the last five years by heading up the homeless feeding programme as part of my church - Chesterfield Church in the Peak. I got involved as a Volunteer Coordinator at nightshelter last year and this year I will be coordinating the Chesterfield Nightshelter project.  I absolutely love it! GOD IS AWESOME!

Last winter I worked in a nightshelter and prior to that, I worked in a homeless hostel in Derby for 13 years until I was made redundant in 2018.

I studied at St Martins College in Lancaster for a degree in Christian Ministry. My passion for working with the homeless came from the placements I did as part of this course, which were at a homeless day centre in Lancaster and outreach to traveler sites.
