Missionary for Homelessness & Housing

I am Paul and I started with Derby City Mission in September 2017 as Missionary for Homelessness and Housing. I have worked in the homeless community and with addicts and alcoholics for many years.

I am a recovering addict myself and feel the calling of God on my life to help others whose lives have taken a similar role to my own. Through years of alcoholism and addiction, I found myself on a number of occasions, sleeping rough and begging. My passion is to see others receive the grace and mercy of Jesus as I did and see their lives turned around. If God can do it for me, He can do it for anyone.

I am married to Amanda and we have a very large family of 7 children and 9 grandchildren. I am an Aston Villa supporter so hope this does not offend any Derby fans!

The Nightshelter has been fantastic, I am amazed at the amount of help and the number of people who have supported me.  I have now secured a tenancy with Derby Homes after nearly 8 years of intermittent homelessness.
