Meet Tim - Associate Schools Worker

Hi there! My name is Tim and I love working with children and I love to share the love of God with them! Many children grow up without the privilege or opportunity that I had to learn the Bible stories and memorise what God wants us to know; that He gave His very life for us, because of His great love for us, if we can believe in Him.

So I love to share that we are made by God as a part of His Plan and loved enormously by Him. Children need to know that when the hard things in life come that He wants to come alongside them.  Otherwise, they can get lost and lonely in this world. Jesus came to bring hope and I love to share that hope!

The children really enjoyed it and were enthusiastic. Props were good, the session was interactive and of course the children enjoyed doing the movements. Tim knew his stuff, he didn't resort to notes. He is very enthusiastic about the course. He was punctual and well organised. St Werburghs, Walk Through the Bible Session

Watch Tim in Action

Children today are growing up with little knowledge of the Bible or the Christian faith. They often grow up with no knowledge of the fact that they are made and loved by God.

Many young people today suffer from loneliness and an increasing number are depressed. Exploring the Christian faith can help with some answers they are looking for as God provides a sense of purpose many are seeking.

I would love to work with you and can offer a variety of activities bespoke to your school curriculum/church

What Tim offers

List of Schools Tim is currently working with or has worked with in the past - could yours be next?

ASSEMBLIES:  I can offer 15-20 minute talks according to values of your termly curriculum or your school values whether faith based (i.e. Easter, Pentecost) and non-faith based (i.e. kindness)

WALK THROUGH THE BIBLE (WTB): I can offer 5 one hour sessions as part of your RE curriculum ideally for Year 5 and Year 6.  WTB is a chronological walk through the Old Testament.  I get to dress up with silly wigs and the children have so much fun learning key actions and words whilst hearing stories about Adam and Eve, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Joseph.  The learning is very kinaesthetic  with huge participation from the children with lots of dressing up too!

DISCOVERY SQUAD: As part of a wider Derbyshire team of Christian workers, we can come and take a 20-25 minute termly assembly full of drama, play and actions.  From Joseph to the Lords Prayer, we’ve got it covered!

TEA TIME/LUNCHTIME CLUBS: Often schools identify families needing inclusion in schools e.g. single parent families, bereaved children, refugees.  With safeguarding approved volunteers, I can run free lunchtime clubs for children or tea time clubs for families demonstrating God’s love by building good relationships, providing food, stories and craft activities.

EXPERIENCE EASTER/CHRISTMAS: During these Christian festivals, groups of children are invited to our partner churches - Ozzy Road Baptist Church and/or St Augustine’s Church to attend hands on sessions focussing on the real meaning of Easter and Christmas - the story of Jesus.

GRILL A CHRISTIAN: Working with a team of Christian workers, we can come to your secondary school for a ‘grilling’ about the Christian faith.  We can fit around your curriculum i.e. we ran a session at Chellaston Academy and Landau Forte during their ‘Diversity Week’

Join in with praying for all the children Tim meets; that through building healthy relationships in a genuine environment, children will be encouraged to seek the face of Jesus.
