Street Impact

Jesus’s act of washing the disciples’ feet (John 13:1-17) was beautifully illustrated recently on a Street Pastor shift.

On Saturday myself and my wife came across a team of your Street Pastors in Derby at the bottom of Friar Gate.

My wife had removed her shoes as they were causing her blisters, not advised at that time in the city centre! We were stopped by your Street Pastors, who reached into their bag and gave my wife a pair of flip flops.

I would like to express my thanks for such unselfish kindness and looking after the well-being of my wife's feet. It can't be an easy job and in most cases thankless. I'd like to donate something to your cause if possible? It's greatly appreciated, especially with a sober mind on reflection of the interaction.

It was a very ordinary encounter, but shows how demonstrating the gospel with acts of kindness can have an extraordinary impact on those we meet.
