Derby City Mission has partnered with the national Big Give Christmas Challenge who will match fund £ for £ your donation to give TWICE the impact!

The disruption caused by coronavirus (COVID-19) has affected many people's incomes, leaving them with less money coming in, but with debts and bills to pay. If someone is worried about their finances, are homeless, threatened with eviction or struggling to make ends meet, they're not alone. But we need your help...

How you can help... (and you will be helping so much!)

To help prepare us for this further increase in demand, we need to fundraise to pay for a new Benefit Advice Worker, fund the weekly debt and benefit advice clinics and pay for debt relief orders, which can free people from debt.

This is where we ask for your help. Could you please make a pledge of a minimum of £100, to support those in need? Its only a pledge at this point, you would then need to pay your pledge between 8^th December 2021 and 14^th January 2022 (don't worry, we will remind you!).

The best bit...any monies you donate will then be match funded by the Big Give, meaning we will get twice as much! We need to have your pledge before 25th August 2021.

Why we are asking you to help...

Many of the people that come to us are in a state of desperation and feel that their lives are spiralling out of control. Some feel ashamed and embarrassed about debt and loss of income even though they were furloughed or lost their job. They struggle to put food on the table, pay their bills and are threatened with eviction, or worse still are already homeless. Like many of our partner organisations, we are preparing for the flood of people who'll need our help later this year.
