We're thrilled to announce that DCM has been awarded £50,000 from the Severn Trent Community Fund - and we are so grateful. This incredible grant means we can finally upgrade the toilet and shower facilities at Safe Space, which have been well-loved and well-used for over six years.

For the people who come through our doors at their most vulnerable, having access to clean, dignified facilities matters more than words can say. Something as simple as a proper shower and a decent toilet can make such a difference to how someone feels that day.

THE WORK IS UNDERWAY

We're delighted to say the upgrade is now in full swing - and we were genuinely impressed the team managed to get a skip delivered into that tight little space! It's wonderful to watch it all finally take shape.

One lovely thing that has happened along the way: before the walls were clad, they were covered in scripture and words of encouragement, prayerfully added by staff- among them, Psalm 46:1: "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble." All of these prayers and words of hope have been covered over now but will always be there, just beneath the surface. Fitting, really, for a space that has always tried to live up to its name.

As the work continues, we'd love your prayers - that it goes smoothly, that disruption to our services is kept to a minimum, and that everyone who depends on Safe Space continues to feel safe and cared for throughout. We're also asking for prayer for peace for our staff, volunteers, and clients as we move through this season together.
