Christmas can mean an eager expectation of presents and precious family time. Or thoughts of good food and a break from usual activities. Yet it is a time when we rightly celebrate together how the Son of God willingly came to earth to be born as a baby.

The nativity of Luke chapter 2 describes the birth of Jesus as the Saviour who is Christ the Lord. The birth of the Messiah was truly a time
of great joy as ‘along with the angel was a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, saying ‘Glory to God in the highest. And on earth, peace and goodwill toward men. Yes, the birth of Jesus has great significance for us all.

This Christmas time, as a City Mission, we will continue to feed the hungry, give presents to hundreds of children, release people from debilitating debt, and provide warmth and shelter for the homeless while sharing the gospel to help break the chains of addiction.
