We are thrilled to announce that the Street Pastor team has been awarded the Derby High Sherriff’s Annual Service Award for their outstanding work within the Night Time Economy. Michael Copestake awarded it to them after he spent a fantastic night learning all about the practical nature of being a Street Pastor and how they spread the love of God throughout the city in a really discrete way caring, listening and helping the vulnerable. He was also able to see how they have built some fantastic relationships with the police, door staff and those working within the Night Time Economy.

Honouring the Unsung Heroes: Street Pastor Awarded for their Service in Derby

This recognition from the High Sheriff for Derby is a wonderful tribute to the tireless efforts of the Street Pastors, who all feel called by God, to work late into the night to make a positive difference in the lives of those they serve and all those they meet.

Elle Warrener-Davis, Derby City Mission’s Managing Director, and David Radcliffe, A Street Pastor and DCM Trustee recently had the privilege of attending the event hosted by Michael Copestake, and we were delighted to see the Street Pastor team receive this well-deserved recognition.

Prior to the award, Michael Copestake enjoyed joining a team of Street Pastors out on an evening shift to observe.
