Missionary for Homelessness and Housing & Food Co-ordinator

I am Alison and I joined Derby City Mission in September 2016 as Food Co-ordinator having previously been a volunteer at the Nightshelter and making sandwiches for Recovery project.  Since June 2019, I am the Missionary for Homelessness and Housing which means I am responsible for the running of Derby Churches Nightshelter.

I was so impressed during my time volunteering with DCM that I knew that I wanted to be more involved.

In my role, I oversee the running of the basics bank warehouse where a group of hardworking volunteers check, sort and shelve all the food donations that come in at Harvest and throughout the year from Churches in our city and surrounding areas.  Here we also make up food parcels to be given out at the Jubilee clinics.  I also sort out all the food requirements for our other projects including Recovery lunch and Nightshelter.

I'm married to Roman and have a Jack Russell Terrier called Pepper.   My favourite pastime is live music and I have had a music artist play an acoustic gig in my living room!!
